St. Patrick's RC High School

St. Patrick’s RC High School recently achieved Arts College status and to support this role the school was looking for a creative and engaging web site with high design standards to fulfill two main roles
Marketing to prospective parents and students
- Promote the aims and ethos and inform the general public and other audiences about the school
- Provide a resource for and means of communication with parents, prospective parents, pupils, governors, the LEA and other audiences.
- A school and events calendar that is easy to administer and manage, and viewable to the public
Community and communication facilities
- Offer pupils a safe space to manage and develop their own content
- Allow both staff and pupils to showcase the quality and diversity of visual, audio and other work produced in the school
- Offer staff the means to upload coursework and teaching materials, including audio and video, and to post stories or articles
- Enable moderated feedback—via commenting and polling for example—in certain areas of the site
The school needed a digital identity and visual design for the site, a content management system along with training in its use, and ongoing support after launch.
The final design, stucture and layout is intended to be uncluttered, easy to navigate and divided into straightforward, task-based sections.
The site we designed complies with XHTL and CSS standards and also makes use of the eGovernment Metadata Standard (eGMS), and is designed to be accessible to anyone regardless of disability, fulfillin the School's duties under the Special Education Needs and Disability Act and the Disability Discrimination Act.
